VACUUMGLASS®
January 2024 - VacuumGlass leads the largest Vacuum Insulating Glass (VIG) retrofit in North America at the iconic Grant-Deneau Tower in Dayton, Ohio. This historic project transforms the tower into a mixed-use facility using our advanced VIG technology, showcasing a commitment to sustainable building practices.
Initiated in November 2023 and set for completion by March 2024, our cutting-edge fully tempered 10 mm VIG replaces the original circa 1969 curtain wall’s 6 mm annealed Solar Gray Glass, making the tower eligible for significant historical tax and Energy Efficiency credits. Minimal structural changes and the incorporation of spandrel VIG reduce costs and enhance energy efficiency.
David Cooper, President / CTO of VacuumGlass, notes the surge in VIG inquiries from commercial building sector across North America, seeking to 'future proof' their buildings using VIG.
This groundbreaking project, endorsed by the Department of Energy, aims to demonstrate the immense potential of VIG in retrofitting energy intensive buildings for a sustainable future.
